Anika Wilson, M.D.

Dr. Anika Wilson is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She has been certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in General Psychiatry since 2008 and in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry since 2009. With more than 18 years of clinical experience, Dr. Wilson is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults throughout North Alabama.

Dr. Wilson earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine before completing a Pediatrics internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She then completed a combined residency in General Psychiatry and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at UAB, where she received comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders across the lifespan.

Following her training, Dr. Wilson practiced with Alabama Psychiatric Services from 2008 to 2015, where she developed extensive experience caring for children, adolescents, and families. In 2015, she founded North Alabama Family Psychiatry with a vision of providing accessible, high-quality psychiatric care to the growing communities of North Alabama. Today, as Founder and Chief Medical Officer of North Alabama Family Psychiatry & Counseling, she leads a team committed to delivering individualized, patient-centered psychiatric treatment.

Dr. Wilson has extensive experience treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), autism spectrum disorder, trauma-related disorders, and other behavioral and emotional conditions affecting both children and adults. She believes in developing individualized treatment plans that integrate the latest evidence-based psychiatric practices with compassionate, collaborative care.

In 2019, Dr. Wilson expanded the practice by introducing NeuroStar® Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) through TMS of North Alabama. As Medical Director of the TMS program, she is committed to providing innovative, non-invasive treatment options for adults living with treatment-resistant major depressive disorder.
